Thank you for your enquiry, The underneath of R2510-4U is solid. The open side is the side that is fitted to the desk / wall etc..... Kind Regards Penn Elcom

What size screws do I need to mount the rack under a desk?

Depending on how you are setting up the rack, we would recommend No.10 x 5/8 (16mm) Wood Screws or longer to purchase separately.
