Penn Elcom was delighted to support the creation of IO House, an award-winning 2,000 sqm contemporary residence in North London that is redefining what a smart home can be. Designed by KSR Architects, this seven-bedroom property seamlessly blends sophisticated architecture with playful, cutting-edge technology, featuring over 20,000 individually controllable LEDs.
The Challenge
IO House was designed to delight and entertain. The lighting scheme needed to support multiple layered scenes across formal reception rooms, bedrooms, a home cinema, an indoor swimming pool, a gym and spa, and extensive landscaped gardens with indoor/outdoor living spaces. Every element had to integrate seamlessly with the Lutron HomeWorks QSX control system while delivering architectural impact and personalisation.
Our Contribution
Working alongside dpa lighting consultants and SMC Smart Homes, Penn Elcom worked as a VAR partner with Inventronics to supply LED tape, aluminium profiles, drivers, and accessories for key areas, including:
- Tunable white LED tape with DALI control for the outhouse and throughout interior spaces
- External lighting including entrance canopy, garage wall, courtyard steps, and outdoor ceiling and fireplace features
- Concealed LED lighting throughout the interior - from the swimming pool surroundings and handrails to ceiling features, back-lit onyx walls, wardrobes, and kitchen shelving
- 6m-high external green wall integrated with 10,000 programmable LEDs
The Outcome
The result is an extraordinary family home that transforms at the touch of a button - from a calm, refined oasis into a multi-sensory experience.
