Penn Elcom LED Tape
Our own range of high-density LED strip, developed in-house
Penn Elcom has supplied the professional lighting trade for years. This range marks the first LED tape to carry our own name, developed by our expert LED team to a single, consistent standard. Every strip runs on 24V, renders colour at CRI 90 or above, and packs a high LED count per metre for a smooth, even line of light. Each one pairs with matched Penn Elcom connectors, along with drivers, controls and aluminium profiles from our wider LED catalogue, so you can specify a complete system from one supplier with technical support from our UK-based team.

Why choose Penn Elcom LED tape
Consistent light quality across the range. Every strip in the range renders colour at CRI 90 or above, which suits retail, hospitality, residential and display work where accurate colour matters. There is no need to trade colour quality for availability when specifying from the range.
High density as standard. From 160 to 840 LEDs per metre, the higher LED count gives a smoother line with fewer visible dots, which is important for close viewing distances and diffused channels.
Genuine 24V performance. A 24V system carries further than 12V before voltage drop becomes visible, giving you longer usable runs from a single feed and fewer power injection points on larger installations.
A complete, matched system. Each strip has its own Penn Elcom connectors and joiners sized to the strip width, plus low-voltage cable, aluminium profiles for heat management, and a full choice of drivers and control protocols including phase-cut, DALI, DMX, Casambi and RF. Our custom LED assembly service can also supply a pre-wired, tested kit built to your specification.
Certified and warrantied. The range carries CE and UKCA marking, with a 5-year or 7-year warranty depending on the product.
The range
PRIMO high-efficacy warm white (LEDPL-PRIMO-927-9W)
The efficiency choice. This 2700K warm white strip delivers 1510 lm/m from just 9W/m, an efficacy of 167 lm/W, and reaches energy efficiency class C under regulation (EU) 2019/2020. It is built with high-efficacy SMD2835 chips, an active current regulation IC and an immersion gold PCB, with an L70 rating of 60,000 hours or more. Supplied on a 10m reel with a 7-year warranty, it is a strong starting point where running cost and building energy targets are under scrutiny, such as commercial, retail and architectural schemes.

Dim-to-warm (LEDPL-D2W-918930-14W)
The atmosphere choice. Using a two-wire design, this strip shifts its colour temperature from 3000K warm white down to 1800K candlelight amber as it is dimmed from full output to 3%, recreating the familiar glow of a halogen or incandescent lamp with LED efficiency. It is high density at 252 LEDs per metre, with 126 warm and 126 cold white chips, and delivers 1300 lm/m. Well suited to hospitality, restaurants, bars and residential settings where a warm, relaxed feel is the point.

Tunable white, also called dynamic white (LEDPL-TW-922935-16W)
The flexibility choice. A single strip that adjusts anywhere across 2200K to 3500K, from very warm candlelight to balanced white, using 120 warm and 120 cold white chips per metre. It reaches 640 lm/m in warm white and 800 lm/m in cold white, up to 1440 lm/m with both channels at full output, and is built with Epistar and Sanan chips. Ideal where one installation needs to serve different moods or times of day, such as showrooms, offices, galleries and adaptable retail space.

COB RGBW, dot-free (LEDPL-COBRGBW940-18W)
The colour choice. Chip-on-board construction gives a continuous, dot-free line of light with no visible individual diodes, combining full RGBW colour changing with a dedicated 4000K white channel. It packs 840 LEDs per metre, draws 18W/m, and can be run through PWM control including Bluetooth and Casambi, DALI, DMX or RF. Made for decorative and feature lighting in bars, cinemas, media units, displays and creative retail.

All strips are 24V DC, IP20 (for dry indoor use), CRI 90 or above, PWM dimmable, and supplied on a reel with 3M 300LSE adhesive backing and a factory-soldered tail. All require a heat sink such as an aluminium profile for cooling.
Warranty: PRIMO 7 years; all others 5 years.
*Tunable white shown as the combined figure with both channels.
Complete your installation
Every strip in the range pairs with matched Penn Elcom accessories and the wider LED catalogue, so you can specify the whole system in one place.
Connectors and joiners. Solderless PCB connectors and joiners are made to each strip width, for example 8mm tunable white, 10mm dim-to-warm and 12mm RGBW. New-feed connectors start a fresh powered section and joiners link lengths in line.
Cable. Low-voltage flat cable is available in 2, 3 and 5 core to suit single-colour, tunable and RGBW strips.
Aluminium profiles. An aluminium profile is required for heat management and protects the lifespan of the strip. Our profile range also gives a finished channel with diffuser options. Compatible profiles for both fit and homogenous effect (dot free) include:

Penn Elcom Tape Frequently Asked Questions
Is this Penn Elcom's own LED tape?
Yes. This range is developed and specified by the Penn Elcom LED team and carries our own name, built to a consistent standard across every strip.
What do all four strips have in common?
They all run on 24V DC, render colour at CRI 90 or above, use a high LED count per metre for a smooth line, and pair with matched Penn Elcom connectors, drivers, controls and profiles.
Do I need an aluminium profile?
Yes. Each strip needs a heat sink such as an aluminium profile for cooling, which also protects the rated lifespan.
Can I get a complete system from Penn Elcom?
Yes. Alongside the tape, we supply the connectors, cable, profiles, drivers and controls, and our custom LED assembly service can build a pre-wired, tested kit to your specification.

Tunable White or Dim to Warm tape - which is best for my needs?
Tunable white is better for offices, kitchens, studios, or multi-use spaces where you need energetic cool light for working during the day and relaxing warm light at night. The brightness is maintained across the entire CCT range (for our tape from 3500K to 2200K). This also works better if you want independent control over colour and brightness for flexible tasks. Control of the lights is most commonly done via DALI, DMX, Casambi or RF.
Dim to Warm on the other hand is a better choice for living rooms, bedrooms, restaurants, or home theatres where you only want a relaxing, familiar mood. The brightness drops significantly and the light becomes warmer as it is being dimmed down. Control of the lights is most commonly done via mains dimming but 1-10V, DALI, Casambi, RF can also be an option.
